I repair computers in Chicopee MA, I have been at the same location since 2006. I take customers by appointment; I make house calls and I do pick up & delivery. People may also bring their computer to my location for free diagnostics. Turnaround time is usually less than 30 minutes for diagnostics and most repairs can be done the same day.

The labor cost is $50 when a computer is repaired and the customer is satisfied with the final out come. When parts or software are needed, and the customer is not happy with the estimated cost, all work will stop and there will be no charge for looking at the computer. When a computer is not worth fixing, I can still recover personal data, transfer documents, pictures, music and so on.

Operating System (OS) software is included in the flat rate $50 repair cost and there is never a charge for anti-virus software. I am available for computer repair work every day, 7am to 7pm Holidays included. I have found weekends and Holidays to be the busiest times, this is because other repair facilities are closed during these times.

Getting your computer ready for repair
Statistically the number one thing people complain about after getting their computer back from a computer repair facility is their personal data is no longer there. This can happen for many varied reasons. I take guaranteed measures to ensure this will not happen when someone brings a computer to me for repair, however, to be on the safe side it is best to back up your own personal data then delete it from the hard drive. This will protect both you and the repair facility from stolen data.

Removing your password from the computer is now possible since all the personal data has been removed. When unable to remove the password, write it down as clear as can be, capital letters and all, tape it securely to the palm rest of the laptop or top of the pc. It would be good to include your name, phone number and address on this piece of paper.

Bring the power cord or AC charger for a laptop. The repair shop may have a universal power adapter for your laptop; however, these things are known to be problematic and may do even more damage to the laptop. Should you have a custom-built gaming computer try to bring all the manuals that come with it. Regular store-bought computers do not come with this paperwork.

Write a letter explaining exactly what is wrong with the computer, try to remember what you were doing right before it started not to work right. When explaining yourself to the repair shop do not worry about how you sound, most people have a tough time explaining themselves when it comes to technical terminology. Wipe down and examine the laptop for any damage, if there is any make note of it and point it out to the Computer Repair Technician you're working with.

A lot of people will have their computer repaired no matter what the cost is, they usually do not have their data or software backed up, making a new computer worthless to them. In the event your computer is not worth fixing I can usually recover the data from the hard drive even if the drive is damaged the data can be recovered a lot of the time. Let the repair shop know whether you would like to have the data recovered in the event the laptop or computer is not worth fixing.

Now is the time to upgrade to a Solid-State Hard Drive (SSD)
Now would be the perfect time for upgrading to an SSD hard drive if you are bringing your computer in for a repair. You will save a lot of money on the installation of the drive if you are doing it though me. I will be able to install the drive at no cost seeing that I am already fixing the computer for something else. These drives usually cost under $50 for a top-of-the-line Samsung or SanDisk SSD, I have them in stock. These are the two highest rated SSD drives being sold. These drives completely loaded Microsoft Windows 10 in less than 9 seconds on a standard computer. A regular IDE or mechanical hard drive takes at least 120 seconds to load Microsoft Windows 10 on the fastest most well-tuned high-performance computers. These drives make all the difference when upgrading a computer, everybody who has one, including myself, swears they make all the difference.

Background and experience
Most people are self-taught using a computer, I believe the reason I have succeeded as a Computer Repair Technician is because of professional training. I went to a computer training facility in Springfield, MA full time for a 40-week course, it was operated out of the Urban league of Springfield, MA. I took the course in 1999 and finished right after Y2K. Before using a computer for the first time I was helped by avoiding unhealthy habits and comprehending computer terminology. This was the most interesting training I had ever had, and I was hooked, I was 29 years old. They gave me a certificate of completion when I graduated, and I still have it proudly displayed today.

Since completing the course It has been up to me to stay current with technology. I have learned it is good to know as many Computer Technicians as possible. Things develop and change in this field so quickly we all depend on each other.
